Are there any plans for the making of programmes in Bulgaria about the plight of the Stray Dogs and Cats here? I am closely associated with a Charity here, set up and run by the British to assist in their care and welfare. It's a terrible problem here and the suffering and cruelty I see are at times unbearable. I believe the rest of the world need to know the awful truth, it's another side to Bulgaria that the tourists don't see because the dogs are culled or disposed of in other ways in high tourist areas. Any thoughts from other members would be gratefully received.AidBG Animals in Distress Bulgaria

If we were talking about reserves or just nature, I think Animal Planet would be there. But we are talking about cities.
Let me tell you about my point of view.
I live in Sofia.
My sister and my aunt are both doglovers. And both have been beaten by stray dogs. My aunt used to have a dog of her own and to feed stray dogs. Still she spent a month in a hospital because of a pack of dogs she didn't know. They lived in the city, in the street, near to a nursery school she was just passing by. Many would say that's common here.
Some of these dogs have generations and generations before them living in the street. They've become strong and wild. They don't like people (or some of them, or it depends on the season, or if they are in a mood, does it matter?). They don't fear people either.
And attacks aren't the only problem, there are disease, barking and howling through the night, excrements in the playground and so on.
I've taken a look at your website because I respect people who are trying to help. But in my opinion your solutions don't match the urgency of the matter. And there's no way Animal Planet could present as heroes peolpe who help stray dogs but leave them again in the streets.
