I agree with you 'Can't get enough of the Irwins'.

I emailed The Daily Mirror asking them why they didn't report Jim's passing, but they haven't bothered replying to me.

It's pretty disgraceful to be honest, as he was such a wonderful man.

Watching him on 'Monkey Business' now makes me feel really sad.

Thank you so much Funky_Gibbon, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels like this, I thought I was going mad. It's a huge disgrace isn't it!! I thought there would be thousands of posts on here but there are not even 40! I'm shocked.

I was listening to the Radio the other day and the presenter was saying how sad he was, and that he'd visited Monkey World and met Jim. He said that Jim was his Hero. I'm going to try to get to Monkey World too, I want to adopt a couple of monkeys Smiler

Some people make this world a better place to live and should live forever. Jim Cronin was one of those people. The world is a poorer place without him.
Our deepest sympathy to Alison, his family and colleages at Monkey World.
Jim, may your mark on this world last forever and your legacy continue.

Animal Planet will be planning a fitting on air tribute to Jim in the near future with the consent of Alison Cronin.

We will of course let you know online as soon as any further information is available.

Very Amazing video!! Perfect in every way - great tribute work to who ever created that.

On another note - it looks like the Monkey World web site is down.

Yesterday on ITV1 I watched '10 Years of Monkey Business'.

I was in tears watching Jim. What a wonderful compassionate man he was. I still can't believe he's no longer with us. Frowner

Hi alkady.

Sorry I haven't replied sooner.

It was a special, but I'm pretty sure it was made before Jim's passing, as the narrator- Chris Searle kept on speaking about Jim in the present tense.

After the end credits they quite rightly put up a tribute to Jim.

This may be of interest. I received a letter from Monkey World this morning, advising that there would be a Public Memorial/Open day on Saturday 30th June. Admission will be free, but they will be accepting donations to the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund, for which they are in the process of applying for charitable status.

The park will be closed all day Sunday 24th June, I assume this must be for a private Memorial.

I'm so pleased to read that Animal Planet are planning a tribute to Jim. I have been dismayed by the lack of recognition his tragic passing has received in the media.

Someone from Monkey World called me a few weeks ago and during the course of the conversation asked how I had heard the news. It seems many visitors are arriving at the park daily unaware of Jim's death. It can't be easy for the staff having to constantly recount such sad news.

Alkady, if you are able to attend will you tell us about the day? I would love to go, but know that it just won't be possible.

I sincerely hope it is a day when huge numbers of people turn out to pay their respect to Jim, and celebrate his amazing achievements.

If you could say 'Hello' to Sammy for me, that would be good too. I swear that chimpanzee is almost human!....
