I sincerely hope we can go, and Of COURSE i will post pics and info some where online for us all to look/ watch

I just am so deeply cross at the lack of media attention / mention of his passing it must be god awful to turn up in hope and learn the worst and even worse for the staff

No problem. I'm pretty sure that it will be an occasion for all, because it's an open letter and 'public' has been put in heavy type. The reason I received it was because I made a small donation to the memorial fund.

Is it possible for you to let me have your email address and I'll scan the letter for you? I don't seem to be able to save it into a word doc, so can't copy it here.
I think once you've read it, it will set your mind at rest :-)

Sorry, I was so busy messing round with my scanner I missed your revised post.
I know what you mean about about the 'cir****tances', but just think you're are going to celebrate this amazing man's incredible life and achievements. I'm sure it will be a truly memorable day.......I wish I could go!!!

Yes, I love the place. Have you been?
I spent a week down in Dorset a few years ago and went to MW five days out of seven! My kids enjoyed every minute, but my husband ended up at Bovington Tank Museum. He was suffering from monkey fatigue!

We had the good fortune to meet Jim and Alison. Even though they were obviously busy filming, they took the time to come over and talk and have their photos taken with the kids. Jim also performed a minor miracle and managed to persuade my other half to upgrade our TV package so that we could get another channel that will remain nameless here ;-) Believe me getting my husband - a Yorkshire man - to part with his money is no mean feat! It was all very good humoured.

Unfortunately, my son has been ill since that visit, he has CFS/ME, so we haven't been able to pay another visit. The kids still tease me about the all time I spent at the Batchelor Group 'talking' to Sammy! My daughter was speaking Spanish to Pacito and she swears he recognised the language!

Hopefully, sometime in the future my son will be up to the long journey and we can pay another visit.... That's another thing about MW the disabled or as they very nicely call it, 'Less- Abled' facilities are excellent!
