At the end of the programme it said that she had died 3 months later but didn't say why!!
Could anyone tell me what happened to her? Did she die because of the tumor, was it something completely un-related?
It was a very abrupt way to end a programme and I feel cheated! If anyone can help it would be great!

Hi I just watched this programme with Pastina Ntoki, and I was so happy that this brave and courageous woman had survived to see her family and be accepted by them again. I too was really shocked and saddened to discover that she had died 3 months later. I too, am disappointed that the programme didn't offer any explanation as to what had happened to her, either on the programme or as an entry on this website. It worries me and whether intentional or not by the programme makers, seems a little 'cold.' Did they not think that their viewers would care about Pastina's future welfare? If anyone finds anything about what happened to her, I would be grateful if they could share this information.

I was also completely shocked to learn that Pastina had died, with no explanation given as to the cir****tances. I was kind of teary-eyed anyway, and then when I saw the tag at the end of the programme, I just burst into tears. And it seemed so callously presented. On another note, her cousin, Boniface, deserves a medal. What a decent, loving and kind person he is. I would like to know how Pastina's death affected his standing in the community. He wasn't on super good terms with them anyway for going against the wishes of her brothers. When Pastina came home after her surgery, they seemed to warm to him; but with her death, I wonder if their superstitions have gotten the best of them again. There is so much more to this story that I would like to know.

I saw the show and it was so unafair that after all that suffering , just when the light seemed about to shine on her life she died. When I read the brief sad tittle that she had died shortly after filming I was very sad too. There are many things that should keep a smile on our faces though, first we saw how other people lives were changed for the better because of her, second there are people that still care so much for a human being as it was shown by her cousin, and then there is this forum where hundreds were touched by the life of a stranger, hundreds for whom it was not just another tv show, it is you people that give this world HOPE.

I too, was so moved by Pastina's story and so warmed by her cousin Boniface's compassion AND courage. He was brave enough to denounce Pastina's brothers not caring for her and her mother as pathetic. Women, in that part of the world especially, need advocates and he was indeed that. It was a beautiful thing to see. I did a search on the web for her cause of death after seeing the program last night. Seeing that end tag shocked me like someone socked me in the gut. I am grateful to know what the likely cause of death was, since the program caused me to care about Pastina a great deal.
