I have seen a real gun that was opened like a Banana from a cartoon. It's was at the Nation War Museum in Canada. it was a artillery gun from WW1. How it happened was that the German crew placed an unfired artillery shell in the barrel backwards then fried another shell into the first one, and bam-o a banana'ed Gun! As well as one dead gun crew.
