First time ive ever posted on these forums.. so bear with me on this *grins*
But i saw a preview for the next years episodes of Future Weapons were they were talking about the 'next-generation' of combat armor.. and one in particular was called Dragon-scale (or something like that). Anyway.. the preview i saw showed them putting the armor litearly ontop of what looked like an Anti-personel mine.. then 'blowing it up'. And im 'guessing' (as thats were the preview left off) that their going to walk out to it and see scorch-marks but a still intact piece of armor. Well my question is this. Why put so mutch $$ and time into researching body armor that can withstand an RPG round to the chest.... if you dont do something about the kenetic force that explosion is creating? And for anyone that dosnt know what im talking about.... Ok, you stop the shrapnel from tearing a nice gapeing hole in your stomach... But the shockwave from that blast is going to shatter your rib-cage and turn your organs into jello. blunt.. but it gets the point across. *chuckles* Anyway.. as i said.. the episode hasnt even ran yet.. atleast i dont think it has. But again.. My question.. Why put so mutch effort into createing an armor that'll stop an RPG blast.. withough also dealing with the 'blast' itself? -- ShadowWolf |
