I do hope that Discovery Kids is brought back, even though I don't have any young goats and found the name annoying, it was a very good channel.

We are absolutely devastated that they've taken the decision to remove this channel.

It was by far the ONLY decent kids channel, amongst the utter drivel and dross that there is now. My 6yr old son learnt so much from discovery kids and now it's gone.

I've had a quick glance at this "turbo" nonsense and it's just not kid orientated at all... I don't particularly want my child watching a foul mouthed garage owner and his chavvy apprentices ALL day thank you very much.

Am v.v.v.v.v. Cross! (In case no-one had guessed!)

I've mailed feedback to them, and I'll ring them tomorrow and register my DISGUST!

I've registered here purely to voice my anger at the removal of Discovery Kids.
I have emailed and will be phoning tomorrow.
My kids are devastated..Where is Mystery Hunters and BIg Bang?? They aren't available to view online.
This was the only kids channel I was happy for my kids to watch.....now I'll spend my time trying to stop them watching the dreaded Jetix and those awful power rangers..... To be honest I liked watching Discovery Kids too.
Its a shame none of the other programme makers can see that kids are interested in factual stuff too.

There is nothing much else for kids and without this they will spend more time watching the rubbish on Nickolodeon.
Bring back discovery kids! The kids need a channel where they can easily find quality programs after school ,without having to search through the listings.

These programmes were not just enjoyable for my kids but educational!!!!!

Just had standard reply back about turbo..... they could at least bother to reply individually.

My kids love Discovery Kids...bring it back.

I'm on the phone, email and letters in the morning.

I suggest we all phone up Sky and complain as well. Select the option for taking up new services they are always more effecient and you never know it might stop one more person spending money with Sky.

After a week without it my boy still misses it and keeps asking why it's not there....
Like many I have registered my discust with Discovery and after a week have had not a sausage back...
I also asked Sky the question and they replied it was out of there hands...
Any ideas as do what we can do next to get it back?

Replying to last posting - keep e mailing them and ringing them. Ask them how you can escalate your complaint if you are not happy with the standard response. Dont watch any other Discovery programmes and dont watch on the PC (which puts money in their pocket). If everyone keeps up the pressure we might get somewhere. Its not too much to ask for a decent childrens programme surely?

Heres irony for all of you mourning the loss of discovery kids - Parent company Discovery Inc in USA has a Global Educational Programme which if you visit the webside is committed to educating children in coutries such as Peru and Africa via the Discovery educational programmes!!!!!! Could I suggest they add the UK to their list as Discovery Europe has removed the only educational childrens channel available in the UK. The website has a contact section so you can all make your feelings known.

Do they really want us all to be yellow, square shaped, absorbent and stupid and live at the bottom of the sea ? Perhaps Sponge Bob attracts more advertising revenue and I'm an intellectual snob wanting my children to watch something fun and stimulating ? Maybe I'll vote with my flippers.........

Awwwww. C'mon. All these adults are right. I mean, I like cartoons as much as the next kid, but it's a great channel. I like Zoinks! where you get to learn how to make things, and I am often caught watching other programs with Matthew, and pretending that honestly, I don't enjoy them and an only watchign them for him....honestly. *Innocent whistling*. Anyway, Discovery's a brilliant channel, especially since whenever Matthew watches Power Rangers and other Junk, he gets violent/excitable, and guess who get's hit? That's right. Moi. So, we told him he could only watch playhouse Disney and Discovery. He hasn't watched playhouse disney since he was three. Doesn't this prove how great It is? Also, most of the other channels are either really babyish (Bleuch!) or completely orientated around violence. Or stupidity. Either or. And that 'free' video junk? Bleuch. It hardly shows anything. Bring it back, pleeeese. My little girl is really upset by this and it was the only childrens channel available that was actualy educational.

I am absolutly digusted that Discovery Kids has been taken off UK Sky TV. So much so that I have joined my first every web chat.

What on earth is going on that the Discovery people are willing to let the Kids in the country tune into the drivel on the other channels!!

I have just come off the phone to Discovery and they have told me that people some people are happy as some of the programs are still available on the discovery web site. Well whoop-d-doo. If you are one of the happy ones then make yourselves known!

I have asked for a copy of some of the jubilant correspondence to Discovery to proove this as I am certainly not convinced.

As for discovery Turbo etc etc are they seriously expecting us to believe that these are replacement channels - please we are intelligent people.

The person who answered my call also mentioned that other channels were more commercially viable - that about sums it up really.

It seems that discovery are more concerned with maximising revenue than assisting us to educate our kids. - well in the UK at least

I have now watched my last Discovery program - despite being an avid fan of other discovery channels.

Sorry Discovery, you messed with my kids and you couldn't even be bothered to respond to my 7 year olds email.

I'm also very unhappy and angry for the loss of Discovery Kids. I'd come from Telewest, so when Discovery Kids disappeared the same day as the showdown between Virgin Media and Sky I was confused as to the reason why. Now I can see that it had nothing to do with that.

All of us who appreciated the range of programs shown there for children and young people, with an interest in finding out facts and experimenting, are now dropped right into the durge.

Has anyone tried contacting their tv channel supplier to complain at that end also? Thanks for the contact info supplied about Discovery in earlier postings. I shall also be contacting them.

There just isn't an alternative channel.

They've also just added two extra channels, Discovery Realtime +1 and Discovery Realtime Extra. Two channels that are simply repeats of programs already available on Discovery Realtime, which in itself is half filled with programs available on the other channels like American Chopper, American Hotrod, Biker Build-Off ect.
Surely it makes more sense to make Discovery channels more available to a wider audience, and therefore a LARGER audience, which MUST be more 'commercially viable' rather than limiting themselves to the same audience over and over again? It's common business sense.
C'mon Discovery people, do the sensible, and also the responsible thing. Take one of the Realtime channels off and put Dicovery Kids back on air. This will give our kids something educational to watch rather than the drivel offered by the other children's channels, while at the same EXPANDING your audience, making your entire broadcasting company more 'commercially viable.'
If you really have to put commercials for toys ect. between the programs in order to make enough money to make the channel 'commercially viable,' then fine, do it. I'm sure having to put up with them would be a small price that us parents would be willing to pay in order to get our children's favourite, and the only educational childrens channel out there, back on air.

Very disappointed to see Discovery Kids scrapped. The replacement programming is utter garbaged. Discovery Kids was I feel the best Kids channel of it's kind, in fact it was the ONLY channel of it's kind. Very poor business decision in my opinion.
