why on earth does the discovery channel insist on using k.p.h instead of m.p.h in english speaking programmes Re the science of speed on at the moment it drives me mad

I presume because the channel is broadcast all over Europe and we are in the minority as far as metric measurements are concerned. Personally I do not have a problem with metric as I have been using the system for 15 years!! Woodman |

You say "English speaking programmes"... I didn't know there were programmes in other languages?
On the k/ph and the m/ph... I guess Discovery is trying to be progressive and modern. I for one am happy with it. Being Dutch I do not quite get the imperial system  |

Tell me about it!
Just watching Shocking Survival Videos on Discovery Science and they're talking about a parachute display going wrong and guess what? They're hurtling to earth at xxx kph! It's just annoying - so over to Road wars on Sky One then!!! |
