Not sure if it would be too far out of your way, but I have never seen anything but fantastic work (including some on me) from Sarah at Tribal Tattoo in Edinburgh.

Hi try Dons on Westgate Road ( think it might still be called Eddies) its on the left hand side as you walk up pst the bike shops, very good at free hand, he has done a couple of mine and will be going back soon

There's a good tattoo shop that is on Old Durham Road in Gateshead, it's called Little Dragon, got my 2nd tattoo done there in 2002 and my best friend has had a couple of tattoos done there as well.
I took in own design which he sorted for the next week for me and my mate had a tattoo added too and got a new tattoo when i got mine done.

IVE ALREADY GOT TATTOOs HAD TWO DONE AT THE ONE ON WESTGATE ROAD - HE WAS OK... HAD ANOTHER DONE ON BYKER BRIDGE - I HAD TO GET IT PATCHED UP AS HE HAD MISSED A BIT OF THE TATTOO OUT!!! AND HAD TWO DONE AT THE ONE IN WHITLEY BAY - THEY SEEMED THE BEST FROM THE 3 PLACES IVE BEEN TO... BUT THEY QUITE A LONG WAITING LIST - MY MAM HAS HAD 2 DONE BY THE ONE IN BEDLINGTON THEY WERE SPOT ON!!! IM AFTER ANOTHER ONE AND WANTED TO TRY ANOTHER SHOP AS I HAVE SOME IDEAS...

i got my tattoo's in jarrow (the viking stdio) i love it and they guys are really nice

Tattoo Mania on Durham Road is very good. I have had 2 tattoos done there and find them very friendly and helpful.

hey dude, your tatt's sound kool will be nice to see them. Aye davey iz a canny bloke he knows what he iz talking about from what ive seen and heard and from what he says he never rush's when he works, £200 aint bad like and atleast he iz doing a full days work on it most places would say right you gonna need a few sessions on it what i think would be annoying lol. I got few things priced up from there once of my own work and both were over £400 to do cause of deatil and stuff but meh i dont mind i just need the money for it lol.
I got 6 tattoo's at the moment but am wanting alot more I design my own tattoos aswell as for other people if i can for a small cost of corse, below are what my tatt's are and pix

1st one i got done was a skull and rose on my right shoulder (only tatt i never designed) mainly i wanted to see what Don was like doing his own stuff ( am picky about who ill let tattoo me lol.

kool and yeah i can see why they would put the price up but still if its just symbols or someit on the chest then i think it shouldnt matta cause the postion the tattooest has to be in isnt that bad.

Has anyone been to 'Just Ink' in Blyth? I've heard good things but they don't seem to have a site or anything.

I've heard NorthSide Tattoos in Whitley Bay is good, too.
