Wot a let down. Within the opening few minutes they said that they were the country's best artists. I am a very successful artist based in Paignton and can do better than they have done. This program is an insult to all other good artists in the country. The quality of art they are portraying is not what the public should accept.

Yeah, that show was terrible. The art was bad, the tattooists were rude and there was nothing that made me want to watch again.

This show doesn't hold a candle to Miami Ink.

I wont be surprised if this show doesn't last.

I tried to give London Ink a chance but after sitting board stiff for three quarters of the show there seems to be no life in the place it's monotone and calling the artists the country's best I think is an insult to other tattooists.

If this show lasts it'll be a big shock!

its sad to hear them call themselves the best in the country, the work they produced on the show was far from the best i've seen at conventions and in the tattoo community. if it was for malloy tattooing beckham the show would be nothing. the best artists in the country dont need to be told to work on their line work! the best artists in the country dont need to be on tv boasting about it either though, their reputation speaks much louder.

Confused I'm very baffled how people can be so negative about the first program? It was just to set the scene and give people a background to what it’s all about? Not every one is as educated about the tattoo world, as some of you may or may not be?

In the end I hope it makes people question tattoo's and not visit the local scratcher, and hopefully they will also realize they can have just about anything - not just the flash that’s on offer!

As for the quality of work I had a tattoo done at London Ink and saw the quality of work – and it was superb! To make a judgment as you have after seeing very little work was the typical reaction the producers said would happen!

Peace people Smiler

I dont know about anyone else but i've been aware of Malloy and Nicole Lowe for a while (not so much the other guys) seeing them and theyre work at conventions and reading the interviews in various magazines, I still dont believe they live up to the hype they both create around themselves.

Its not so much about the work that I dislike, they're better than a lot of scratchers I know, but to claim they are the best in the country is misleading and negative. it's an insult to a lot of amazing artists, who are not on TV plugging theyre new shop (I admit its a damn good way to bring in the customers and dont see anything wrong with that side of things!). I cant help but feel the show (as with miami ink) is a bit misleading to people new to tattoo's, hearing people talk about how utterly amazing the work is without ever really scoping out other artists first.

I'm going to keep watching the show, I'm reserving any real judgement but i'm pretty sceptical as I'm sure are a lot of people who have awesome tattoo's from london/uk artists.

Oh my god those tattoos on the taboo tattoo site are terrible! Haha and he thinks he's better than the guys on the show?

And to the guy who said that the work of the artists was better than the scratchers he knew...well that says alot now doesnt it?!?!

You associate with scratchers you moron why would anybody consider what you have to say as wise.

And Evilotion your the dreadlock guy who went for the apprenticeship right? Didnt fancy taking a portfolio with you? No?

I would like the guys who said it was crap to find me a better version of any of the tattoos they saw on the show......I really would.

Or you know tell us who they consider to be the 'best in the uk' Do you think the tattooers on the show replied to advert in a paper saying 'looking for best tattooers in uk' ? I really doubt that...

And until you hear, Dan, Nikole, Phil or Louis say 'I'm the best tattooer in the uk' you need to stop trying to flog that dead horse and remember that it was the narrator that said that, who was probably reading it off a script given to him by a producer or exec for discovery.

I said the work was better than scratchers- it was in response to an earlier post! read the whole thing before jumping in guns blazing!
I dont associate with scratchers, i see their handy work on the skin of a lot of people. My tattoo's are by Steve Byrne, someone who is considered a top class tattooist, and for the sake of discussion I also rate Thomas Hooper, Lal Hardy and Bugs very highly.

How would we find "better versions" of the tattoos exactly? thats surely not the point of real custom tattoos is it?
