I have many friends and relatives in the Tattoo Business, my wife is a Tattoo Flash Artist and I watch many tattoo shows like Miami Ink, I have great respect for Chris Garver and Darren Brass as artists.
London Ink on the otherhand is not the show it has been built up to be. Louis Malloy is not one of the best tattoo artists in the world and he seems to find a way of putting those stupid angel wings on everything he does. Just because he has tattooed so many celebrities doesn't mean he is that good. I have seen much much better. Go to Tattoo Shows and conventions and see the work there to realise this.
London Ink is just full of celebrities who have not been on TV for some time getting exposure by getting tattoos. Miami Ink keeps these celebs to a minimum and shows regular people with stories that make you laugh and cry.
Phil Kyle and Nikole Lowe are the only reason to keep watching this rubbish, they are good artists with great techniques.

I agree with you 100%.
He is good but no better than a good tattoo artist.
I was watching London ink the other day.
He was interviewing for a cleaner basically or maybe a future artist.
Now he turned away two people because they had done a tattoo themselves.
On themselves. About 90% of tattoo artists have done their own.
Even Miami ink artists have said they started doing tattoo’s from home.
With the right hygiene and the odd mate you got to learn somewhere.
Even the London ink crew if they really were honest started off that way.
Louis reputation is because some one famous walked in his shop one day.
Well that could happen to anyone.
Does not mean the self-trumpet blower is the best in the world.
Ive seen better on Miami ink .

Forgot to say
Miami ink would be better if you didn’t have to have some one that died before you got a tattoo .

Have only watched a couple Miami/LA/London Ink progs and had to stop - waaaaaaaaaaay too narcissistic! (Although you take the editing with a pinch of salt)

I did smile the other night when watching an advert for London Ink
"Most people wouldnt know a good tattoo if they saw one"...............
Record a few episodes and pause when close ups are shown , then give an objective critique.
IMHO some the linework leaves alot to be desired .I have paid for excellent work by relative unknowns.
I have no issue with someone excelling in their chosen field if they do it thr their own merit, i think it is very poor when you try to make yourself out to be at the top by slating your peers.
