Hi Let, thanks for the apology, you didn't offend me, I just didn't think that a user name had any bearing on the content of a post. TBH it wasn't my first choice as I had tried a few Garver related ones but they were taken. I thought of Kat as I like her work too and also as I have 5 cats (none of whom have tattoos) Smiler.

Pumpkin: are you going to post a pic of your tattoo? I would like to see how it looks after healing up.

Its so sad that the Brit's can't appreciate the fact that London ink has tried to get away from "my dogs died so need ink" Maimi Ink format? Its meant to be enjoyable - wash over you good entertainment - which does help to remove the thug attitude that non-inked people have.

Its a shame that everyone feels the need to damn - just because they have too instead of appreciating good old fashioned entertainment!

How can belittling someone and their work in front of customers be classed as helping and caring...??

And as for trying to change the "thug attitude" as you say, showing someone with anger issues and a very big headed female with her "they get what I give them" attitude going to help the U.K tat scene...??

And as for being good entertainment, I think you need to stop watching so many soaps as in my eyes this is all this program is. You hardly see any of the tattooing getting done, nor do you see the finished tattoo's properly, which is one thing the other tat programe do, they even show you them after they have healed properly...

They should scrap this lot and start again from fresh, only this time get some real tat artist's...

b They are real Tattoo Artists.

c I've never seen a soap in my life, you obviously do and understand them well enough to try and form an opinion about me.

hahahahaha Smiler Man you all take TV too seriously.

I have to say that many of the replies on here are very judgmental about people who you have only seen on an hour long edited TV show. What ever you think of the show itself, these four ARE some of the best artists in the UK.

As far as I am concerned the main problem with the show is that they have played up the conflict between Louis and Dan's attitude to work to get drama out of it, and this has resulted in Dan coming across as a bit amateur. In actual fact he is a ridiculously talented, fun, caring (Clean!) tattooist who has been working in the industry for 17 or 18 years and has worked alongside the likes of Lal Hardy and Bugs. His work has graced the pages and covers of tattoo magazines around the world for many years.

I have seen the show and all i can say is how great it is. Dan gold is a legend and his art and life is so cool to watch. i have lots of tattoos and each one has a story so i can see why the show is getting such a good response. all i can say i hope there is another season.

All,

I feel that I just have to echo so many of the comments above... please please please bring on the second season!

Dan Gold ... what an absolute legend... if you've ever spent the time REALLY watching the show you will see that he is a multi-faceted, very deep and involved person that is more dedicated to his cause than most people you will ever meet... from any walk of life.

His work comes from so deep inside that I think it's obvious to anyone watching that it's inspired to the level that they want to represent that one, two three or however many special things in their life in ink, on their skin where it matters (and is more emotional to them than the incident or situation that inspired it...) that his inspiration just isn't something that can be learned but something that you are born with.

Talent of that nature is something to be nutured and broadcasted on a grand scale... for it is a rare thing to behold and the kind of talent that can change cultures...

Bring it on, bring more... and bring it to the big screen in the form of another series!

Peace, love and harmony... xx

What a lovely attitude you have there - are you one of the staff at London ink....you would fit in well. People can only comment on what the tv has shown them & it hasnt shown much of anyones work yet.

Are you related to Dan Gold????????? nothing against the man but I have been REALLY watching the show and he is depicted as having the talent but has a loss of confidence in his work. Is this right, maybe not but thats how it looks and he does nothing to change things by dossing down in the shop after a night on the ale.

Hey Leo,

I bet if Discovery did an ip check on the latest post's from London they'd all be the same one, or maybe they all originate from a certain poster from South Wales...:-))

I think the show is fantastic, its realistic and gives you an insight into what life is really like in a tatto shop. Its only been on for a couple of weeks & like most new shows you need to give it time to warm up.

As for the earlier comment about Lois living off that tattoo, he is not the one who talks about it, he is not living off it, did you not see the first show with the updated version which was fabulous. Take a look at his friends sleeve his portrait work looks as good as a real photo!

I work near to the shop & on the occasions that I have gone in I have been made to feel more than welcome everyone there wants to help you choose the best tattoo design for you.

Dan Gold is a brilliant artist I have seen his work first hand before I even heard about the show, the detail of his work is outstanding my friend said that they didnt notice the pain of his tattoo as he was made to feel at ease by Dan.

Dan is helping me choose a design for my 6th tattoo & that wont be the last!

I think the show is awesome great British ppl in a great British programme, I think alot of ppl seem to be too critical of it due to it following Miami Ink, me personally I rate it highly I look forward to Sundays well to be honest I record it and watch it numerous times during the week. I think Dan is quality and yes Louis is too critical of him we all have our problems in life but I dont think Dan let's it interupt with his work as his tats are awesome !!

KEEP IT UP GUY'S

ANYWAY LET'S HOPE THERE IS GONNA BE A SEASON 2 AS THIS SHOW IS QUALITY COME ON DISCOVERY SORT IT !!!!

Well, I've read a lot of negative comments on here but to be fair the show is only 3 episodes in and like people have said, there is not a lot of coverage of the actual tattoos. Remember that the show is designed for people who want small tattoos so the artist can complete them quickly for the camera.

I have been a customer of Dan's for many years and the reason I initially chose Dan as my Tattooist was because of his well documented work. He has appeared in tattoo magazines worldwide, he has worked with some of the best such as Bugs, and even at Everlasting Tattoo in the States. That studio is regarded as probably the best around, with Mike Davis and his crew. His work is unquestionable and he is respected throughout the world of tattooers and any of the top studios worldwide would jump at the chance to have him work there.

I do agree with people saying Louis is a bit over the top, but again, its probably all just editing for the camera and show. I know for sure that Dan is a consummate professional and his friendly attitude is essential to put the client at ease to enjoy their tattoo experience.

I feel that the show does not do any of the crew justice, like some have said, if you check out Dan's, Loius, Nikole and Phil's portfolio's then i'm sure you'd all be amazed. I would recommend all of the crew if you want to get tattooed.

I think instead of being negative we should embrace the fact that, at long last the UK is beginning to see tattoos as acceptable in society and this show is proof of that and aids in its cause. I just wish I had as much fun at work as these guys do!

So if someone has a different opinion to you - it has to be the same poster with different user names? People are entitled to their opinions, not everyone is going to agree with you - try and use better arguments if you are going to talk on a forum. Roll Eyes

Why is debate so hard here? Why is it so hard to understand that some like the show and some dont! ................. and some possible have a slightly better understanding of what actually happened because THEY WERE THERE!!!!!

Bye nice people ( and ********s) this forum is a waste of space, people dont talk they just get silly or open up a new thread on a subject thats already being spoken about? Confused
