THAT THEY ARE FOUR OF THE BEST TATTOOISTS IN THE UK!!!!! THAT IS THE NAROTIVE OF THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL, AND ALSO AS FOR THE NARATNG ITSELF THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SHOP THAT IS ALSO DEDICDED BY DISCOVERY!!! BLAME THEM... NOT THE SHOP ITSELF....

WHY ARE OTER ARTISTS INSULTED#?????? NONE OF RTHE ARTSISTS HAVE CLAIMED THAT THEY ARE TE BEST JUST THE CHANNELL, NICOLE IN MY OPINION IS PNE OF THE BEST IN THE WORLD AT HER STYLE AS IS DAN GOLD. I DO AGREE THAT LOIS IS OVER RATED, AND AT TIMES A COMPLETE PR**K. HOWEVER I DONT THINK HE HAS MUCH O DO WITH THE SHOP WHEN THE FILMING IS NOT GOING ON. AGAIN THIS IS SOMETHING THAT DISCOVERY HAVE LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE AND IS NOT NECESARRILY FACT.

THE BUZZ IN THE SHOP IS MOR TO DO WITH THESE GUYS LOVING WHAT THEY DO, AND NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT AWAY, THEY ARE DEDICATED TO THEIR JOB, AND I HAVENT SEEN A BAD ONE YET....

PLEASE DO REPLY BECUASE I FEEL ALOT OF YORU ARGUMENTS ARE INJUST... YOU NEED TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN WHAT THE CHANNEL IS SHOWING YOU... IE WHAT IS EDITED OUT ETC AND WHAT THE ACTUALL POINT OF THE SHOW IS. ....

I'm sorry but why are people taking this all so seriously.

To the people who like the show - i'm with you guys, I've already said that I've been on there and very happy with my tattoo, in fact cant wait to go and see louis again. keep watchings guys, i personally hope that there is a second series too.

To those of you who dont like the show - fair enough we are all entitled to our opinions, most of those opinions seem to be founded in the editing of the show, please remember that editing can turn things completly around and make mountains out of mole hills. as for lack of decent photo's of the tattoo's, i have to agree with that one, there should be but for what ever reason there isn't so we've all just got to get over it.

and if you still really have a problem with it, there is a very simple solution - turn it off, if it offends you that much watch something else.

Mmmm what can I say...... I'm not gonna get into a lyrical brawl about who's right and who's wrong, we all have our own opinions and these are mine........

For me London ink is nothing like the million dollar endorsed purpose built studio of Miami ink and thank god for that! Yes, the tatoo's are excellently crafted on Miami ink but what on earth is that fifteen minuite slot showing tatoo's of someones heartfelt loss of their horse or other family pet!!
London ink is a British series showing the British tatoo scene in a brand new, clean working studio, funded by people who are proud of and beleive in the British tatoo scene.

The four artists are obviously talented in their own right but sometimes look a little shakey as the show has asked them to perform outside their comfort zone, anyone questioning the quality of the artists work only has to check out their homepages and look at their work.
I have personally seen Dan Gold's graffiti style tatoo work on UK hip hop group 'The Beefeaters' members Bigmac (DJ) and Aggaman (MC). The work is awesome as I'm sure you will agree when you check out Bigmacs back art on the homepage. As an active follower of the hip hop movement since 1982 and I have to say that Mr Gold's ability to transfer grafitti work to skin is amazingly dope! To capture that raw artform from train to wall to canvas to skin without losing the real feel of the graf is outstanding.
Some of the most popular viewing on TV at the mo are reality shows, thats how I see this show, a tatoo artists reality TV show, warts and all, something I beleive the hyped up, full of razmataz version known as Miami ink is afraid to show.

Us Brits have nothing to be ashamed of here, this programme portrays Brit artform in its purest state, No benchmarks are required, we have an abundance of quality British tatoo artists in the UK lets show more.... what about a weekly showing of a UK tour of our major towns and cities to show off some more raw talent.
The london ink series is the begining of a very good series...and yes different to miami ink, but then London and Miami are two different places ...arent they?

Keep up the good work and i look 4ward to series two.

I watch all three programmes, eg, London Ink, Miami ink, now London Ink. I think a lot of us are comparing these shows because of the name, being 'ink' on the end. If it was a shop named Louis tattoo studio UK or something like that, we would possibly think differently. We react to this show the way we do because we feel it should be similar to LA Ink and Miami Ink. just because Louis does a few tattooes on Beckham doesnt make him an over night success, by the way, one of Beckhams tattooists ?? got it wrong a few times as well spelling Victorias name wrong and his symbols are not what they should say either. So no one is perfect.
I personally dont think Louis tattooes are particularly brilliant, but are of a good standard. At the end of the day though, it is the clients decision whether they are happy with the final tattoo.
The programe does need help with editing and maybe the studio needs lightening up, it is too dark in there.
We reason why perhaps so many of us like the other shows is because MI & LA Ink are filmed in lovely warm, fun countries where everything is colourful. London is dark when the suns not out!

Ok enough of the silliness now! another great episode boys and girls , i like miami ink but the realness of London Ink is what i'm loving!!!! can't wait for Sunday!!!!!! get rid of louis!!

I think the show is awesome, we've had too much of Miami Ink and need to put our focus on our home talent.
Dan Gold is renound to be a legend, and I would love to get some work from him. Is it me or does Louis just come across as interferring - yes he is brilliant at what he does but we should stop going on about that bloody beckham tattoo

I think that - as everyone has said - the artists themselves are good in their own right. As a team I do not think that they gel well. The channel has decided that these people are the best that the UK has to offer. Us brits have a lot of homeground talent right here in the UK. Coming from Cheltenham I naturally think that the team at Mantra are the best.
Paul, Mark, Darren and Sarah bounce ideas and information off each other and do the best work I have seen, all the staff are friendly and the shop is welcoming.

Yo everybody can and will have their opinion on the studio they get inked in havin greater work and being better organized than whats shown on London ink,and as for Discovery channel going to your local studio i welcome this...But hope their ready for the hard work and commitment this takes...at least 3months filming 12hrs a day,no paying customers for duration of filming,total takeover of the studio! When filming starts bring in an outside artist who's well known in the industry to take over and run the studio as though its his/her own. Mmm not sure many would be up for that,but if they are crack on. Im not sure but someone told me the studio on London ink was run and owned by Dan Gold(one of the artists)and his partners? If this is so i take my hat off to you dude for the hard work and commitment to your work and tattoo scene. I look forward to sundays program and hope a 2nd series is in the pipeline...also i think a visit to studio/shop for some grafitti tatts for me is a must v-soon. Keep up good work London ink.

Ive watched all 3 ink shows, I do have to say They all have there down points, however london ink is was behind.

The things they told there clients to do after they go there tattoos where just crap after all the tattoos ive gotten never been told anything like that.

London seems to focus more on the artists than the tattoo's rather than the other way around with the other shows.

How can a guy base that hes the best tattooist ever cos he has does a tattoo on the most famous guy in the world(which i would have to disgree with.

Ive watched the first 4 eps so far and havent seen one decent tattoo yet.

In a real shop if dan carried on like he does in the show he would be out on in his ass in a second.

the show is definitely progressing, watchng Dan get thrught his life on the show is jokes and nicole..ye that 1 special lady, she got sum issues! but definitely need show dan in a more positive light, he's much more talented than the show lets on.
