In the cold war era, the US started development of a nuclear powered bomber. The project was later abandoned, but i think the idea was a good one except for the pollution it could have caused. It could theoretically fly indefinitely and bomb targets anywhere on earth. Good idea or bad?

Why bomb them? Just fly over them & let the jet exhaust do the work.
