One of the things which never fails to mystify me in the days of Nicam stereo is how poorly served we are on TV with the sound machinery makes.
In particular there is too much music and too much 'talking head' footage. We love planes and so we want to hear them and see them as much as possible. Too often documentaries stress too much the 'human interest' and not the machinery. I dream of the day when we get a half hour programme just going around the plane, clips of it flying, someone off-camera telling us about how it flies, what it can do etc. Then going through the start up and taxi, take-off etc. Minimal commentary, no music. Most of all NO historical background. We have heard all of that dozens of times before. Thanks! |

That really bugs me too. When I watch a documentary on say the A380, all I want to do is listen to those RR Trent 900s/EE GP7200s NOT the blooming commentator or a blaring soundtrack!
But, what is the point in complaining? Producers, directors, etc, never listen to the viewers. |
