There may be other topics where this could go...but I had a thought that this is the place to further honor Steve by telling the stories of other "ordinary people/extraordianary achievements....those people who are making a tremendous difference in the world through various means. I found a story on CNN about heroes. It is entitled "Ordinary People/Extraordinary Achievements." It is about heroes that exist in our world...those that seem to have that purpose ...a mission....I thought about Steve.
Here is a quote from Steve's father, Bob,....and how many other people have we heard say the same thing?.... "He's just an ordinary guy, and he wants to be remembered as an ordinary bloke," said Bob Irwin. "Just an ordinary bloke"...this is one of the reasons Steve touched our hearts so. He was just like one of us....but yet, so much more...he was Extraordinary...and that is quite simply understated. "Steve Irwin may have entered this world as an "ordinary bloke," according to his father; however he lived an extraordinary, purposeful, most meaningful LIFE! Through the love and guidance of his parents, Steve evolved into an "EXTRAordinary Bloke" and that is how he will forever be remembered by throngs of people the world over"! Here are some very important words from Steve....."I have a message for my fans. Whatever you want to do in this world, it is achievable. The most important thing that I've found, that perhaps you could use, is be passionate and enthusiastic in the direction that you choose in life, and you'll be a winner." |

In 1999 at age 25, Ken Noguchi climbed Mount Everest, becoming the youngest person to scale the tallest peak on every continent. On Everest, he noticed trash left by other climbers, much of it with Japanese labels. Since then, his "litter brigades" have cleared eight tons of waste from Everest and are working on Japan's Mount Fuji.

Just an ordinary bloke...you knw when I hear these words I can relate better to Steve because I am an ordinary Shelia...I am not a Queeen, I am short with to curly of hair, I walk with a limp, and would rather be in a barn (Steve would rather be in the bush) but because I relate to Steve this way I know others do to..thats why he is still so loved and passion for his passion will never die.

Thanks SIFIMH...this topic is very important to me and I think it is important to share these stories with everyone. I get so tired of turning on the TV or reading the newspaper and even the internet....so much bad news all around us. I have written many letters locally to papers and TV stations about the "bad" news....enough is enough...it is like the world wants to soak it all up! I love the good and the positive...this is what sends the correct message to the world! Why can't the media at least take the moment to bring us the good news of the world? The world needs it! We need to know these wonderful stories about people who are just ordinary people and are taking the time to give of themselves to do something absolutely extraordinary!
