Discoverer Posted 25 September 2006 01:05 Hide Post Just to mention here as well, you can go to the Austraila Zoo website and "adopt" an animal. There are different levels of adoption (I believe it starts at $50.00). You get to choose the animal you wish to adopt and you will get a picture of that animal as well as updates of the animal's progress. You will also get an autographed picture of the Irwin family. We did this a week ago, and chose the koala. When we adopted our koala, I told them the reason why we chose the koala. The day prior, my 7 year old son said that he wanted to save the koalas. I asked him what he meant and he told me that he learned from reading a book, that the koalas biggest enemy was fire. He further explained that they move so slow that they can hardly escape fire. Well, adopting an animal from the zoo, the obvious choice was a koala. To add to that, we have already named "our koala" Irwin. You can also buy items from the zoo. We ordered a signature "Crocodile Hunter" hat. In paying, credit cards are accepted. US $100 would be $133 Austrailian currency. To find you conversion, just do a simple search for "currency conversion". You enter the dollars and then the two exchanges, and it will give you the current conversion amount.I think it will be a wonderful thing for all of us who have expressed our deep admiration and appreciation for Steve, to at this point, make our contributions to the zoo or to the Wildlife Warriors, so Steve's good works can continue. This is a small part of what we can do for Steve to "take it from here". |

A good friend of mine also adopted a donkey called Pebbles for me for Christmas. She lives in a donkey park in Cornwall, UK that I love. All I need to do now is visit her and feed her some carrots!!!!!!
My sister and I adopted a Tiger from the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation for our Mum's birthday, which we presented to her yesterday! She was really pleased |

SteveIrwinForeverInMyHeart, I would be more than happy for you to include my adoptions in your pledge book. Do you need anything else from me to help you?
I was really surprised and pleased with the donkey. I was planning on adopting one after Christmas and my friend beat me too it! I'm also hoping to adopt another croc next month to mark Steve's birthday. |

SteveIrwinForeverInMyHeart I would be more than happy for you to include my adoption in the Pledge book.
I am also looking at adopting a couple of koala's for my 2 niece's birthdays in June. I have received my adoption pack through this week and it includes an Australia Zoo cap as worn by Steve and his crew, a signed photo of Steve, Terri, Bindi and Bob, a fact sheet on saltwater croc's, an adoption certificate and a fantastic photo of Graham which came in a card which has a picture of Steve and a young croc on the front. This is definatly something I will treasure for the rest of my life. |

Welcome to the forum pittmaster. Congratulations on your new family member! Lucky Puppy. Unfortunetly it is true that far to many animals of all kinds are not as lucky as her. It is fortunate that people like you and many of the people on the forum love animals. Thank you for sharing this happy story of love and rescue with us. Steve often reminded us that we can each make a difference.
