Surely this is the first program that should be shown on the Shed channel? Come on, Discovery, show us some of the recent series of NYWS, and why not This Old House as well?

I've never seen anyone fishing in a shed - please can we have shed-like subjects, e.g. woodwork/diy progs. Put the fish back in the water where they belong!

It would appear that there is a new sport spreading across the country. It's an adaptation of the ice fishing which goes on in little sheds in the USA. In this country though we don't have sheds on lakes which makes it all the more challenging.
Come on Discovery - shed for shed like activities please.

We should somehow get our voices heard (as per MODs post) to get NYWS re liscenced so we can have at least one decent programme on SHED. I'm fed up with Anton, Tommy and the others - none of whom seem to have any idea how to make decent furniture/projects in a professional manner - or presenters capable of actually showing you how to "do it yourself"

Me too! I've been hopefully waiting for New Yankee or This Old house for years now! Even a bloomin re-run would be better than nothing at the minute. We must be at least 2 series behind the US now, probably more.

I also miss these shows and would love to see the lastest episodes and maybe some of the classic stuff aswell.
A few other good shows where Hometime and Home again with bob vila i learned a lot from watching them.
Ive found the This Old House channel on you tube that has a few recent episodes to watch on there. Also plenty of clips of the spin off Ask This Old House series.

Lets See, Shed = Wood Work; Metal Work; Mechanics etc, unfortunatley I don't have lake in my shed, I loved NYWS and This Old House. Shed should be geared towards the DIY'er. Should it not be renamed Discovery DIY? But hey how, I pay my sky bill to pay a fat cat wage to someone that is not in touch with viewers. The Channels should be:

Discovery DIY (motors, woodwork,etc)
Discovery Outdoors (outdoor Hobbies, Planes Fishing etc)
Discovery leisure (caravans, boating etc)

If you need a program scheduler give me a shout.

Hear hear all of you.

I actaually upgraded my Sky subscription specifically to get NYWS. I quite liked Anton Fitzpatrick building his boat as he actually seemed to know what he was talking about; but the programmes where he built furniture were rushed and amateurish.

Bring back Norm! It's so inspiring to see him build really fine work and you even get to look forward to the plaid shirts and the

"Lets take a few moments to talk about shop safety"

If hes not back soon I'm going to cancel my subscription

For all those who are Norm Fans. Here is an update on the situation regarding NYW on British TV.If my memory is right the last season to be shown in the UK was Season 17 which was first shown in 2005 in the USA. I dont believe we have been allowed to see Season 18, 19, 20 or 21. If I am right that means we are 4 years behind the USA.
However the latest Season 21 was 26 shows long. It was a re run of season 9 and 10 with a new introduction.
I guess the problem with showing NYW is Discovery will have to discover some money and pay Morash Associates or WGBH Boston for the licence to transmit the shows.
I would like to go back to Season 1 and see all the shows again. Including those never shown in the UK.
Having seen the shows from season 18, 19, and 20 I can say they were great, as always. This years well it was a re run so we have all seen it.
Come on Discovery play the game and let us see the Master at work again.

I would just like to add my voice to those other posters.
I want Norm back NYW is so badly missed. I, like so many other people here, can't understand why fishing is on SHED, I don't fish from a shed, I potter about I make things I do DIY in it. I want to see Norm making fine pieces of furniture and explain, and show, how he did it. When will he be back?
