I thought we could have some fun and post quotes from Kapt. Bumbles and the SSBSS. Anything you find post away. I know I have some gems!
Here's a nice little bit of contradiction to start off with: "What the government did not consider is that we did not want the ship back. The Farley was due for retirement and the annual costs of drydocking were becoming far to high for our budget. The cost of retiring a vessel can be as high as a half a million dollars considering all the environmental issues that have to be dealt with and the cost of breaking the ship. So what the government did in fact is take care of the retirement costs for us. That is why we did not sue the government, because we actually did not want the Farley back - the ship is to slow and to old for us."-Paul Watson But.................... in regards of the Farley Mowat Capt Paul is quoted saying he retains the registry, so, it is still his, even if someone else was to purchase it he will do whatever it takes to get back what is rightfully his to begin with,,,he says...""I have no intention of recognizing the validity of any sale ordered by the Canadian government," Watson said in the release. "Whoever buys the ship should be aware that we retain the registry and the original bill of sale and we will take back what is ours at the first opportunity."" |

“We should never feel like we’re going too far in breaking the law, because whatever laws you break to liberate animals or to protect the environment are very insignificant compared to the laws that are broken by that parliament of whores in Washington. They are the biggest lawbreakers, the biggest destroyers, the biggest mass-murderers on this planet right now.”

Well then Paul should be happy to know that whenever I go for a walk when it's raining out and all the worms get stranded on the pavement that humans created, causing them to later dry up and die or get stepped on.....I go around picking them up and putting them back on the grass. I have saved many worms. I also pick up snails, slugs, caterpillars, and other things like that. I put them in the grass or on a tree. |

Then he said this:
I would like to respectfully contest what you have said here. I'm not bragging but stating as fact that I am the world's most experienced ship rammer. I have been ramming ships since I first knocked the pirate whaler Sierra out of business in July 1979. I fully understand the physics and the mechanics of ramming a ship. I know where to hit it and how to hit it to avoid causing injuries. When 1,000 tons of steel collides with 1000 tons of steel at a correct angle, the mass or volume of the metal being struck and the metal striking absorbs the shock of the impact and never in any of the many number of ship rammings have we ever knocked a person off their feet. I never strike a ship where there is an accommodation or fuel compartment and I never strike where crew are standing. I once aborted a deliberate ramming on a Japanese driftnetter because a crewmember was not moving from the position where he was standing. As for sinking whalers, we only sink whaling ships without anyone onboard. Is ramming a pirate whaling ship moral or legal. It is legal unless charges are laid and I've never been charged with a crime in relationship to a ship ramming. As for moral, it depends on your point of view. An anthropocentric would argue that it is immoral but a biocentric would maintain that it is moral. I personally don't care what the anthropcentrics think of what we do. So we stand by to ram if need be if that is what it takes to save the lives of these gentle, intelligent, socially complex, self aware wonderful sentient beings we call whales. -Paul Watson |
