The new series of Mythbusters is kicking off on Thursday 6th March with a James Bond themed two-part special. Part one's at 8pm and part two's at 11pm.

The team test out the real-life viability of such Bond favourites as Oddjob's razor-brimmed hat, Bond's bullet deflecting wristwatch and Jaws's steel gnashers amongst many big, fast and explosive others.

Be sure not to miss it, and find out more here.

Why it's heaven to be 007

*He can blow all sorts of things up and not go to jail as a consequence

*His wit never fails him, even when facing death

*Even when his disguise is clearly terrible (such as his Japanese disguise in You Only Live Twice), he'll fool those he needs to by the sheer power of his charisma

*He gets the best undercover identities, such as James St John Smythe and Colonel Louis Toro

*Despite this, all the best hotels know who he is and give him the best suites

What do you reckon? Any more?

He gets to drive, and invariably wreck, the latest Aston Martin. In fact, no matter how many times he breaks his toys Q always gives him new ones! He must have very comprehensive insurance.

I know it was R (John Cleese) in the last Pierce Brosnan Bond, can anyone remember if there was a Q or an R in Casino Royale?

I don't think there was a Q or R in the Daniel Craig Casion Royale - his car was delivered to his hotel, and all his gadgets were in the car. I think they're bringing him back for the next one though...

the "original" doesn't count either as it was just so shockingly bad!

As a Bond fan myself I can say that in the recent remake, there is no Q, and also that Q is the term used for head of special equipment department, and that R was said my Bond(Brosnan)as a joke. the think the quote is "If your Q does that make him R?"

If you only look upon the bad things then only the bad things will show themselves. Look upon all things and the good will eventually drown out the bad.

'Q' is short for Quartermaster, the guy who looks after stores in military life. It would therefore be silly to give a guy a title of 'R'.

'M' was originally Admiral Sir Miles Messervy. In the later movies M is played by Dame Judy Dench so Bond fans have an interesting problem.

the show will be great to see. the only thing that will be better is a show on another 80's classic t.v. show called "a-team." the show had to create some of the strangest thing that us viewers ever seen.
