Hey guys, not sure if this one has been mentioned before,in the movie "The Fugitive",do you think that is possible to survive the infamous dive that Richard Kimble/Harrison Ford made from the dam,I saw it on a re-run recently and wondered if anyone else had the same idea of putting it to you guys.If enough viewers write in about hollywood stunts that are feasible or not it could be the topic of a special kinda like the jaws episode,If not then no worries,Love the show and keep on bustin!!.Keith Kennedy,N Wales,UK

well from the hammer drop i may think no but i would say it is possible mainly because of the airated water at the bottom of the dam but whether you would hit the bottom of the pool before you gain bouyancy would be another question.

If you watch the movie real closely, the way the arms and legs of the "person" jumping off the dam are positioned, I'm fairly convinced its one of 'Buster's' 'dummy' relations that actually goes off the dam. If a Hollywood stuntman won't try it, you've got to figure it's impossible! Big Grin

I heard a story just recently that a guy tried to commit suicide by throwing himself over Niagara falls. Ironically, unlike all the other people who have tried and died who didn't want to, he survived.
The hammer before you hit the water myth was into an unbroken body of water but, as you say, this would be into a foaming, turbulent, aerated body of water, so (unwilling to try it myself), i'm only assuming it may be plausible.
