I was watching the Hindenburg episode a few days ago and i noticed how they had "unknown" ingredients in the thermite that were supposedly necessary for the reaction to take place.
However i made thermite myself and it worked with out said secret ingredients, all i used was aluminium powder and black iron oxide (Fe3O4) i also mixed it with a small amount of play-doh to make it into a kind of plastic explosive.

again i feel the need to ask:

SCIENTISTS might well make thermite in order to do sciency things with it, im sure.

but why would anyone other than a scientist or possibly, the military want anything to do with thermite.

its dangerous, not to mention, probably quite billegal to manufacture explosives in your back yard, and unless you want to commit some kind of terrorist act (not being racist, terrorists come from all over the world) why would you need it?

Imagine that though it would be cool,dangerous but cool!I would want to know , too.I would love to hear that in the morning,BOOM!SWEET!!

It may sound a little mercenary: but as long as these idiots keep playing, it keeps me in a job. Although I don’t have any sympathy for them when it all goes wrong.

No doubt one will be having a word with the FBI and the other with the Garda before too long. Assuming there's enough to have a word with.
