during the USA's nuclear tests they often took along a few animals for the hell of it.
pigs where placed at various distances, as were cockroaches.. The pigs that were not vaporised or otherwise disintegrated soon died of radiation sickness, VERY unpleasant! However, it would seem that the cockroaches (again the ones that survived the blast) did not suffer anywhere near the effects that the pigs (and other unfortunate creatures) endured... Some may say that this is because these creatures developed while the earth was fairly new in evolutionary terms, and the cosmic radiation was still soaking the earth's surface. You could not develop if you could not take the heat, so to speak. others would say bollocks... where's my fossils? It's Logic Jim But Not As We Know It... |
