Trains are quiet, so listening for them is a waste of time.
Level crossings have flashing lights and hooters to warn of approaching trains. Bus drivers are supposed to know about things like that before they get the job. Damage? Watch the old news reports. A lightweight railcar travelling relatively slowly would cause a large dent and much annoyance and probably some injury. A few hundred tons travelling at high speed is another story altogether. |

An interesting concept.
In order for a train to completely rip through a bus that train would need to be going at an incredible speed. A bullet train would be ideal because of its shape, it could possibly cut right into the bus, theoretically. But no matter how fast it would go one would expect that the train would suffer serious damages as well, if not derailing. |

An incredible speed wouldn't be absolutely necessary, buses are quite large & flimsy compared to something like an SUV or smaller car, at about 70mph, an ordinary freight train would probably go right through a bus. ____________________________________________ "The Early Bird catches the Worm", only goes to prove that the Worm should've stayed in bed!!
