If you were one of the best students in your college English class - I'd absolutely HATE to see something posted by one of your less talented classmates.
My English grammar etc. was better the day I entered Secondary School than what I see above. ____________________________________________ "The Early Bird catches the Worm", only goes to prove that the Worm should've stayed in bed!! I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money. There's room for all God's creatures. Right next to the mashed potatoes. Health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die. |

Potato silencer - no such thing. In fact, there's no such thing as a silencer - they are more properly called 'sound suppresors,' and they work with varying degrees of efficiency, usually better with subsonic ammo, such as .45 ACP. Firing through a large potato will supress the sound a little, but not a lot. It will, however, significantly alter the tone & timbre of the sound - enough, in fact, that from a reasonable distance one might not recognise it as a gunshot - which is all that most professionals expect from a supressor anyway! And, to add to the other poster's comments - with subsonic ammo, soda-bottle supressors, (you don't need the tissue, by the way, it is the expansion chamber to slow down the escaping gases which does all the work,) are amazingly effective - I've tried one on an indoor range, and the guy in the next lane, (wearing ear defenders, admittedly,) genuinely never heard the shot go off!
As for use of english - I abhor text-speak in any event, but especially on an international forum such as this, where posters whose first language is NOT english can't learn anything useful from it - and I operate a zero-tolerance policy towards punctuation! |
