You are totally lost in the woods with no matches..can you really start a fire by rubbing two sticks together? What methods can you use to get a a blazing fire stated? bob@zahirsky.com

you would be better going to a library and getting out a book on survival/wilderness!

you don't really rub 'sticks' together (like two drumsticks!) , but you do have to cause a fair amount of friction, and to be able to collect the hot, smouldering powder that forms, or all is for nowt...
