Adam showed this to happen on a show that's already been shown, he walked across a pool of custard

They also did this on braniac, i think it was jon tickle who did the walk. They filled an entire swimming pool and he walked across it fairly easily. They did run into a bit of trouble when he stopped moving, but he got out in the end, all in all a good laugh. It would be fun to watch adam and jamie do the smae feat though

Yep - it is possible to walk on custard, as it is a non-Newtonian substance.
Basically, the more force you push down on it with, the more 'solid' it becomes. If you tried to walk slowly across it, you'd sink, so you need to stamp down hard on the surface. =) |

you can test this yourself.
get some cornflour out of your cupboard and add a small amount of water to it. mix and as you start mixing it becomes hard stop and it becomes liquid |
