It appears that salt grains are being sprinkled on the diaphragm of a sound generator whose frequency is increasing. The salt is forming itself into patterns matching the vibration patterns of the diaphragm. You cannot hear the sound after a point because the frequency has risen above human hearing.

You can do the same with any granular substance - sand or sugar for instance.
