The myth sais that you can be hit by lightning if you use a cell phone in a storm. Is that true?

The lightning bolt looks for the shortest route to ground. This is why high buildings get hit first. Therefore the mobile phone will only increase your chances of getiing hit if it changes your profile by making you taller (holding it above your head) or possibly to one side.

What I'm not sure about is the effect of a conductor. i.e. does lightning seek out conductors over non conductors to make their strikes ?
