I would like to know is there any truth that big brand cable is better (MONSTER CABLE,QED,CHORD...ETC..) or will any cheap hdmi cable do the same job.
As hdmi cable is meant to be standard 1.3 hence they are all meant to work the same but the big name cable brands say otherwise. |

I would think one cable would do the same job as any cable would. However different cables have differnt methods of diverting RF signals.
The cable on your monitor has an ferite core that knoby thing on one end TV cable has aluminum wraping many cable many uses they will all carry a signal |

Cable electrical standards indicate its likely performance when new. It does not tell you how long the cable and its connectors will last. The price is sometimes a clue, but not always.
If we do not attempt the impossible, we can never achieve the absurd. You will know the truth, and the truth will see you fret. |

HDMI cables use data encoding and physical cable structure that is very similar to fast Ethernet, with a slightly more obscure connector.
I believe it is reasonable for HDMI cables to have a comparable quality and cost to Ethernet cables. Any sort of comparison of HDMI cables that does not use some sort of digital signal analysis is going to be utter rubbish, as the data encoding is designed to be resilient to noise (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cliff_effect). |

HDMI, HDMI, HDMI....
did we all go this mushy when SCART came on the market? personally I would have preferred a standard based on Gigabit Ethernet!, think about it.. HDMI signals can barely travel four meters, HDMI cables cost TOO much!, and with Ethernet ALL your computers would be able to send data/movies to your TV directly! we have missed a trick with this one! Ps, on my Xbox360 there is very little difference between Component & HDMI, the exeption being that for some bizarre reason the Audio won't output over HDMI when viewing XboxLive rented movies!! It's Logic Jim But Not As We Know It... |
