Apparently, an egg can be slow cooked with some specialised equipment at a frequency as low as 50mhz. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6097013.html

Given that cell phones operate at 850/900/1800/1900/2100 mhz, I assume this could be manipulated to cook an egg under very specific conditions.

However, could an egg be cooked simply by leaving it between to active handsets? Well, a home microwave uses 2.45 ghz to cook which is over 1000 times more powerful than a cell phone. So I don't think a couple of cell phones alone are powerful enough to cook an egg under normal circumtances.

Frequency and power are two totally different things. Frequency (expressed in Hertz, or for us oldsters, Cycles) is a measure of how often the voltage changes polarity in a second. Power is measured in WATTS, and is Volts times Amps.
Cooking is, especially in the cases of popcorn and eggs, achieved by heating over a length of time. Heating is achieved by applying power. There is simply not enough power in a pair of cellphones to do the job. In real life, the popcorn kernel would go mouldy before it cooked, if the egg was in a warm enough room it would incubate before it cooked.
The only time that frequency comes into play is when the object being heated has a dimension that will resonate with the frequency applied, and even then, there has to be enough WATTAGE to do the job.
If I recall correctly, this was tested and busted several years ago.

If we do not attempt the impossible, we can never achieve the absurd.

You will know the truth, and the truth will see you fret.

I know that you can pop popcorn for definate because I have tried it and the popcorn was edible (me and my best friend tried and we are both still here with no side effects) but I am not too sure about cooking an egg but i may have to try it...
