i watched a WW2 movie along time ago and there was a scene where the submarines engines failed, so it started sinking to the bottom, however before it actually reached the bottom the pressure was to much and it exploded, now i know that they do in fact split open due to pressure but this submarines engines actually exploded and ripped the sub to bits. So my question is can the pressure cause the engines to explode into a ball of flames before the actual sub begins to split open ??
